The NYT Mag asks: Can Pakistan be governed?
Answer: Not by the incompetent Zardari, smiling ear-to-ear in this phenomenally audacious photo, framed on all sides by legacy meal tickets Benazir Bhutto, his murdered wife, and Muhammad Ali Jinnah, “founder” of Pakistan. What’s particularly twisted about this image is how much, in its self-conscious symmetry, it embodies the ultimate degeneration of the Pakistani government.
(9:43 am: Edited for correct ID. Picture on far wall is not Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto’s father)
