Judge Roy Moore pulled out his wife’s hand gun exclaiming “we carry” during an Alabama Senate candidate forum last night.” 

Maybe Freud is truly dead, but the link between power and sex (or power AS sex) is right grippingly, gropingly there. The gun lobby frames gun ownership, and especially, carrying rights in terms of independence and freedom from fear. But let’s be honest, these objects — so mighty and steely in hand — are as much about potency.
