Culture Shift: Our Twitter/Instagram Favs of the Week or So

The culture is changing quickly in response to the presidential earthquake. (If you have any doubt, just ask the SPLC.) Visual culture is particularly sensitive to the impact. In fact, it seems that news imagery that isn’t directly about Trump is still about Trump. We found these photos, some of which we posted over the holiday stretch, particularly shapeshifting. Take Jim Goldberg’s clever “It’s been one week” sign, for example. The real novelty here is that he actually noticed it and said it before it started turning into the everyday.

The shadow on the face that looks like a mask. The blower that looks like a weapon. The foreboding shadows from the tree.
