I’m going with the photo Wired ran from the Fars News Agency. The accompanying story picks up on the latest inside knowledge acquired from the cables about Iranian efforts to upgrade its conventional weapons capability. It might be too much to hope that the scary photo, reinforced by the knowledge that real enemies in the world are serious about doing seriously bad things might motivate Congressional Republicans to stop playing politics with the START treaty. But then, when did reality, let alone the threat to U.S. security, ever get in the way of the opportunity to stonewall a Democratic president?
