Beyond their culpability for the Gulf disaster, the question is: when is BP going to be “arrested” for their ability, on a daily basis, to dominate the disaster coverage and throw their weight around?
In a clever visual commentary, this Reuters photo from yesterday’s Homeland Security hearing actually fuses BP’s blathering U.S. President Lamar McKay into his own projected illustration, turning him into a fire-breathing cartoon character.
Factoring that BP retains far too much control and PR leverage for the catastrophe they created, the image calls out the company for blowing hot in its denial and fanning fires in shifting blame around. And then, addressing the full detail of the photo, it takes McKay to task for projecting an air of success around the controlled burn strategy when, in reality, the entire situation remains almost thoroughly FUBAR.
