Your Turn: "Bit" Players

I don’t know about you, but last week seemed about a month long.  I won’t even begin to rehash it.  I’m just hoping next week only involves about a quarter of the adrenaline.

In the name of resting and sharing, I’m stepping back again for the next two days and leaving the readership in charge.  Given the visual ordnance I’ve managed to bombard you with lately, I’ve picked out a couple images to analyze that I think will help tighten up the focus in the direction of The BAG’s original deconstructive and semiotic roots.

There is one other thing I’ve been meaning to mention regarding “Your Turn.” I know there are quite a lot of you out there now who follow The BAG quite closely while still maintaining your reticence.  Whether you have some ideas about Fay, the King, or Maria (and her legs) below, I wish to extend a warm invitation for you to just jump in and offer us your thoughts. (I can’t tell you how many people write me with the most incredible “takes,” but preface those insights with a concern that maybe they are missing the boat.)

Also, just a quick word about this cover before I leave you with it.  I’ve spent a bit of time pouring over this one myself and I’m really impressed with how much “story” comes pouring out of it.  Besides the cultural, economic, media and technological angles, I’m convinced this illustration could also inspire an original movie script.

(Or, maybe that’s just the Los Angeleno in me.)
