This week, sexual abuse and the waning Trump Asia trip dominated the visual news. Trump’s embrace of Philippine President Duterte and his specious drug war was particularly disheartening. And it’s not like Trump and the harassment issue were that distinct. The primary focus, though, was on Senate hopeful Roy Moore’s longstanding thing for young girls, while Senator Franken got swept into the spotlight, too, for behavior at a USO show in 2006. Meanwhile, the stealth GOP tax initiative, designed as a massive windfall for the upper class and an initiative with the capacity to fundamentally alter America’s economic landscape, remained largely under the radar.

In the current atmosphere, this goes way beyond 1k words. Not only is this a photo #Franken will never live down, it also implicates the @USO, #comedy (we’re serious), and one of the largest institutional incubators for sexual abuse, the US #military. 📷 Leeann Tweeden/KABC pic.twitter.com/VgxTUbw3WA

Thought the drawing of a 16 yo #BeverlyYoungNelson was a little heavy-handed. The year book love note from Judge #Roy, on the other hand, is fully creepy. https://t.co/5GqVWE0Asy#RoyMooreStories#GloriaAllredpic.twitter.com/LwD51ySguP

Photo editors in fine form. As Trump dares to chastise #Franken for #sexualharassment (moth to the flame?), NYT illustrates story with a puckered thumbs up. pic.twitter.com/umWfzB72Ev

Google #ASEANSummit#Trump#Putin and all you get the past week is this little walk. Otherwise, nothing from the one, or was it two “non-meetings.” Where is the outcry about media censorship? Credit to NYT photographer @dougmillsnyt for speaking out. https://t.co/Bw4H2vJSOKpic.twitter.com/rjisc9EeiA

Perhaps the most telling pic of a dismal trip. Doing contortions. Re #Duterte, at least his hands are where you can see them. https://t.co/9inKV7r8il

Media can normalize, but holding #ASEAN in #Manila, and #Trump (on his human rights-free trip) feting #Duterte, is just beyond. As a (yes, graphic) background, @jameswdelano documents death of #QuezonCity bbq vendor by govt death squad. @newrepublichttps://t.co/b3wsJ7eClCpic.twitter.com/mstbDYXG6a
