This photo shows Foxconn factory workers in Shenzhen during their lunch break. It’s part of a Reuters photo package called: “Global Business Week Ahead.” (Here’s a different view at Corbis.) Between the U.S. and China, I imagine this photo having a very different reading. In these Chinese industrial towns, perhaps a little shut eye, a little shade and a little cardboard adds up to something completely practical. Otherwise, shades of skid row or the challenge of a living wage, it can speak here to the outcome of being pushed to, or over the edge.
