The Perfection of NYT Mag's Ryan Cover, Mr. Right

It’s perfect — especially the title (in which it’s impossible for Paul to be Mitt’s “right hand man,” his old right wing self and somehow “right for America” … unless he’s flexing those biceps or staring at you with those big blue eyes).

Why did Ryan come out so intact in the Veep debate (which is what we were getting at in our round-up post with that last photo we highlighted)? It’s because what he offered, as this illustration nails, was a caricature, a purple state amalgam, a focus group cartoon.

He’s so smoothed out, look what happened to the widow’s peak.
