Santorum in the Flesh

Like it or not, we can now add this picture of Rick Santorum to the growing catalogue of bare chested politico pin-ups (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

Sure, these guys work hard and deserve their r&r. But for a presidential candidate so invested in symbolizing the politics of Christian purity, there’s a real risk that catching rays around so much gleaming flesh might come off looking a bit like “Santorum’s Spring Break 2012: Puerto Rico.”

This is all in good fun, of course. Even so, this was also the same week during the campaign that Santorum—with nothing but elbow room to his right—committed himself to stamping out pornography in the U.S. Empty promise or not, might we be looking at the emperor with no clothes?
