Considering Liu Bolin says his art is a protest against the Chinese government, but these intricately composed photographs could be set anywhere in the world, I’m wondering how you read his larger strategy as well as the distinct meaning of this latest piece “recorded” in Paris at the Grand Palais on Friday.
