Hostage Crisis?

Well, Mr. Paladino — the no nonsense guy; the guy who can’t be pushed around — had me completely fooled.   What he had us thinking is that he, and his not-very-well-know-or-established-Rabbi friend who fancies himself head of a Hassidic Tea Party, were simply professing their mutual concern about the gay menace.

But now it turns out, according to Carl, that he wasn’t acting on his free will at all, but instead, that he was reading a statement somehow foisted on him by the bearded-and-jacketed-ones.  In other words, looking back at what was supposed to be a routine campaign photo, what this actually is (like one of those terrorist videos) is … a hostage taking.
