I keep thinking about the piece by John Heilemann that Josh Marshall has been touting. Heilemann’s point is that, to the extent McCain can make the election about Obama, he has a chance. Looking back at the blog this past week, I count 10 posts, 7 deconstructing attacks on Obama. Not good.
Which leads me to these seemingly whimsical shots taken on the McCain plane taken back in April. In the foreground, we see McCain jawing with new campaign head and Rove disciple, Steve Schmidt. I don’t have to explain the doings in the background, except to say that the tone of the campaign has, indeed, experienced a very sudden drop in cabin pressure, ushering in the likely event of an emergency landing.
Actually though, I’m as interested in how you read this image and context, that weird face through the head hole, the color, the dangling mask….
